The C.L.E.A.R. Framework: A Strategic Approach to Landing the Right Role
Happy Monday!
This week, I'm doing something different. Instead of one standalone topic, I'm breaking down the exact framework I use with my coaching clients—the same approach that's helped professionals go from stuck and overwhelmed to signed offers (with stronger compensation) in as little as 6 weeks.
I call it the C.L.E.A.R. Framework.
Because here's what I've learned after years of coaching: most people don't have a job search problem. They have a clarity problem, a positioning problem, or a strategy problem and they're trying to solve it by applying to more jobs.
That doesn't work. What works is getting C.L.E.A.R.
What is the C.L.E.A.R. Framework?
It's a 5-phase approach designed for high-performing professionals who are tired of feeling overlooked, undervalued, or stuck in roles that look good on paper but feel misaligned.
Each phase builds on the last. Skip one, and the whole thing gets harder. Nail all five, and you don't just land a job—you land the right job, with the compensation and culture fit you deserve.
Here's the overview:
C — Clarity
Define what you actually want.
Before you update your resume or apply anywhere, you need to answer:
-
What role am I targeting and why?
-
What does success look like for me in this next chapter?
-
What's my compensation floor and target?
-
What kind of environment do I thrive in and what do I need to avoid?
Most job seekers skip this step. They start applying before they know what they're looking for. That leads to scattered applications, weak positioning, and interviews for roles that were never the right fit.
Clarity first. Everything else follows.
L — Leverage Your Brand
Make sure your story is working for you—not against you.
Your resume, LinkedIn, and the way you talk about yourself should all tell a consistent, compelling story. One that answers:
-
What do you do?
-
Who do you do it for?
-
What impact do you make?
This is where we refine your resume to speak directly to your target roles, optimize your LinkedIn so recruiters and hiring managers find you, and craft your positioning so you're not just another applicant—you're the obvious choice.
E — Expand Your Reach
Tap into the hidden job market.
Here's the truth: the best opportunities often aren't posted. They're filled through referrals, conversations, and relationships.
This phase is about:
-
Activating the 8 networks you already have access to
-
Strategic outreach that doesn't feel awkward or transactional
-
Building visibility so opportunities come to you
Networking isn't about asking for jobs. It's about building relationships that open doors.
A — Articulate Your Value
Show up to interviews ready to own the room.
This is where most qualified candidates lose. Not because they can't do the job—but because they can't talk about how they do the job.
We work on:
-
Telling your story with structure and confidence
-
Answering tough questions without rambling
-
Asking strategic questions that position you as a peer, not a beggar
-
Using interviews to evaluate them as much as they're evaluating you
The goal isn't to "get through" the interview. It's to lead it.
R — Receive the Offer
Negotiate with confidence and transition with clarity.
You did the work. You got the offer. Now what?
This phase is about:
-
Evaluating the offer against your goals (not just the salary)
-
Knowing what to negotiate and how to say it
-
Handling counteroffers and transitions professionally
-
Setting yourself up for success in the first 90 days
Because landing the job is just the beginning. How you start matters.
Why This Framework Works
The C.L.E.A.R. Framework isn't about doing more. It's about doing the right things, in the right order, with the right support.
It's built for professionals who:
-
Are tired of applying and hearing nothing back
-
Know they're capable of more but can't seem to break through
-
Want a strategic approach, not just generic advice
-
Are ready to invest in themselves and their career
This is the exact process I walk through with my 1:1 coaching clients. And this week, I'm giving you a deeper look at each phase, so you can start applying it yourself.
What's Coming This Week
I'll be breaking down each part of the C.L.E.A.R. Framework on LinkedIn:
-
Tuesday: Clarity — How to define what you actually want
-
Wednesday: Leverage & Expand — Your brand + your network
-
Thursday: Articulate — How to own the interview
-
Friday: Receive — Negotiation, offers, and what comes next
Follow along, save the posts, and if any of this resonates—I'd love to hear from you.
The Bottom Line
You don't need to apply to 200 more jobs. You need a clear strategy, strong positioning, and the confidence to go after what you actually want.
That's what C.L.E.A.R. is all about.
Let's have a great week.
